2018 In Rewind

Wow! It’s April and I still haven’t talked about 2018! I am slacking!

So in 2018 many things happened. First thing first, Lee’s Grandfather had passed away after a tragic accident at home. This man was someone Lee idolized. I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of time and though he couldn’t communicate well to me, I loved meeting him. My favorite memory, the last time we saw him before he passed away, he gave Lee and I the biggest smile when he realized that I was with Lee. It warmed my heart with acceptance. I wish I was able to go back in time before he had his strokes and talk to him about life.

My dad opened up his shop! Melrose Auto Clinic LLC. I could not be any more proud of him following his dreams. Just seeing how far the shop has come and that it is a FAMILY business shows the determination he has for his business. He takes pride in it. My brother is also working there as an apprentice under my dad. Soon he will be starting his college classes for the Tech program.

Lee and I met John Conley! This was the coolest thing ever. We were definitely the youngest couple in there.

I GOT A NEW CAR! My transmission blew in my Malibu Hybrid and because I work at a dealership I was able to go home with a new vehicle the next day. I got a 2012 Equinox! My dream vehicle. It is practical and big enough for our family to grow!

Family growing????????? Yep! Lee and I welcomed our little girl Nova in July. She is more than perfect. I could not imagine our life without her. She may drive me crazy and love her dad more than me but she was the missing piece to our family. Nova is now a 10 month old and is “pointing” at everything. I cannot wait to get her out hunting. Nova is a purebred German Shorthair Pointer.

Another crazy idea I had last year was to run a half marathon. Say what? Yep! I ran a half marathon with my mom and aunt. It was so fun! Mentally I could do it. Physically, well that’s another story. I was going strong until mile 10. Then I hurt. At mile 12 I wanted to just die. But it was such an accomplishment! I also did a 6 hour run! That was so fun! Nothing serious but everyone there cheered you on and told you good job. I fell in love…. I am now running a marathon relay, half marathon, 24 hour race, and a 25K….. Yep I have officially gone insane…

Many other things happened last year from going to the Packers Family Night, Going to the Tri-State Psychology Conference, Starting my Behavior Research Project (Presenting at PCARD, Symposium, Tri-State Conference) many great times with family, many trips up north, canning our gardens bounty, family vacation, and many other things…

So over all 2018 was great but I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in the books for us (Graduating, another dog, moving to a different state, and who know what else!)
