Its Been a Year!
It has been a year! My last post was 1/26/18...… wow. Well a lot has happened in this year. So here is a short recap.
This little girl joined our family this summer. Her name is Nova. She is a Purebred German Shorthair Pointer and is now 6 1/2 months old. She has brought us so much happiness in our relationship and brought us so much closer together. I could not imagine my life without her. She was our missing piece.
This fall I made the decision that I was going to run. I decided to do a 6 hour run with the running club and it was so much fun. I did a total of 16 miles that day. I hurt so much and even cried, but it was worth it. I had never ran more than a 5K. I then decided to run a half marathon with the same group. I finished in 2 hours and 52 minutes. I beat my goal by 8 minutes! 2018 was a great beginning, but 2019 will bring much more! So far I have two half marathons, one 25K, one 24 hour run, and one marathon relay in my calendar. I will also participate in 5K's along with my daily running. I have two goals for 2019. First, I want to get my half marathon time down to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Second, I want to run 50 miles during my 24 hour run.

So this fall I started my Senior year of college. It has been the most stressful thing ever. I am conducting research that had to be approved by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville IRB. It has brought so much stress to my life. We have potential risks for our participants so it has been really tough making sure that we are taking all the right precautions. With finals this week I am feeling really good about this semester. There is one class that I'm worried about but other than that everything is going just as planned. I have two semesters left here and it is crazy to think about. In the next few months I will begin to apply to graduate schools. I never thought I would make it this far. I am beyond proud of myself. I cannot wait to pursue my Masters in Social Work.
I am so sorry it has been so longs. I will do a Christmas break update in January! For now Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
