2018 In Rewind

Wow! It’s April and I still haven’t talked about 2018! I am slacking! So in 2018 many things happened. First thing first, Lee’s Grandfather had passed away after a tragic accident at home. This man was someone Lee idolized. I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of time and though he couldn’t communicate well to me, I loved meeting him. My favorite memory, the last time we saw him before he passed away, he gave Lee and I the biggest smile when he realized that I was with Lee. It warmed my heart with acceptance. I wish I was able to go back in time before he had his strokes and talk to him about life. My dad opened up his shop! Melrose Auto Clinic LLC. I could not be any more proud of him following his dreams. Just seeing how far the shop has come and that it is a FAMILY business shows the determination he has for his business. He takes pride in it. My brother is also working there as an apprentice under my dad. Soon he will be starting his college classes for the Tech ...

Its Been a Year!

Image
It has been a year! My last post was 1/26/18...… wow. Well a lot has happened in this year. So here is a short recap. This little girl joined our family this summer. Her name is Nova. She is a Purebred German Shorthair Pointer and is now 6 1/2 months old. She has brought us so much happiness in our relationship and brought us so much closer together. I could not imagine my life without her. She was our missing piece.  This fall I made the decision that I was going to run. I decided to do a 6 hour run with the running club and it was so much fun. I did a total of 16 miles that day. I hurt so much and even cried, but it was worth it. I had never ran more than a 5K. I then decided to run a half marathon with the same group. I finished in 2 hours and 52 minutes. I beat my goal by 8 minutes! 2018 was a great beginning, but 2019 will bring much more! So far I have two half marathons, one 25K, one 24 hour run, and one marathon relay in my calendar. I will also participate in 5K...

It Happened To Me

I would like to share a story with you. This story is one that only a few people know. Many people know of the tragic accident, but not how it affected me.  On December 13th 2010 my cousin Brandi, at the age of 19, was killed in a tragic accident. I was 14 years old and saw her as my big sister. I was devastated when I heard the news. That day, like every other day, I had been talking to her about starting up cheerleading at my high school. She was having a bad day and didn't get to the school to talk to the board about it. I had told her that was ok and I couldn't wait to hear what they had to say the next day. I texted her that on my bus ride to the school for gym class. After gym I grabbed my phone, excited to read her response. But there was none. I instantly felt off about the situation. She always texted me back. Always. That night I had found out that she was killed. I'm pretty sure I cried that whole next week. I was certain that I had killed her. I was the...

2017 Recap

In looking back on 2017, So many things had happened. Some good, great, bad and sad, but in all this year was definitely one to remember!  So lets start with Jan 1st 2017. Lee and I decided to stop drinking soda. This was going to be hard for both of us with our love for Dr. Pepper. But hey! we did it! I'm so proud of both of us for getting that unhealthy habit out of our lives. In January we also ended up In a car accident. Some how a guy in a car did not see Lee's truck and smashed right into us. Luckily no one got hurt. It was definitely not the start of the year we wanted. This last year we went to numerous truck/tractor pulls, and Monster truck shows. I can't even remember where they all were there was so many. They were all so much fun! I'm so glad I'm with someone who loves the same things that I do!   We also went on a trip to Alabama! This trip was so much fun. It was Lee and I and then two of my friends. I wouldn't of wanted anyone else to...

Drinkings not all that!

Holy Cows! It's been 2 months since I turned 21. Lets take a look back at that day! So the day of my birthday we decided to go out. We hit up 4 bars in Platteville and I really enjoyed every second of it. I had some really good drinks and some really nasty shots lol but it was all fun. That night ended just after 1am because I had class the next morning and work. I never actually got "drunk" on my 21st. I was feeling pretty good but that was as much as I wanted. Since then I have only gone to a bar once and that was with my dad and his cousin to have dinner and a beer. Otherwise I have maybe drank 4 other times since October 11th. Drinking is not important to me anymore. I only started drinking when I was in high school because I had a boyfriend at the time that's life revolved around partying. And same with my first year of college. Now I cant even really stand the taste of alcohol. Some days its nice to just have a drink but even then I can barely finish it. ...

His name is Lee

On October 27th 2016, a man named Lee asked me out. In September we had started talking and I most definitely tried too hard to get him. I was actually scaring him away. Luckly he took a chance and got me away from my so called "friends" to watch a game of football. I think after that night he knew I wasn't the girl I pretended to be. It didn't take long and I was constantly at his place. I can't say my roommates were all to great besides Emily. But she left after just a few short months to be closer to home. Miss her. Anyway it got to the point were I was there almost everyday. In March of 2017 we went on a major trip together. Although we had our moment of argument, it was an amazing trip. I set up a day trip for us to go to Pensacola and go horseback riding. It was honestly the best trip ever. We walked around down town and then got Sonic. It was an amazing date. That trip brought us so close and definitely challenges us as a couple. I can't wait for o...

Roots

~Past~ Growing up in a small community meant a lot of things. You know everyone, your related to half of them, and you’re considered “Hicks”. But it also meant that my parents raised us kids how they were raised, in the woods. My parents were big hunters when they were growing up. Every year getting their stands up and gear together to freeze their butts off in a tree. Many times my parents would take me out to go “hunting”. This meant we were sitting in a lawn chair or on the ground and I was constantly moving because I was little and couldn’t sit still. I would get so excited when someone shot a deer. I would hold on to the antlers and poke their tongue thinking it was the coolest thing ever. I was raised in the woods, covered in orange, hoping for a deer. ~Present~ Recently my parents bought 120 acres of land. But it came 40 acres at a time. That land has brought us so close as a family. Our FFF (Forced Family Fun) was working at the land. We set up stands, made trails...
